Ocean freight software with a working title nobody could say twice and a launch in nine weeks.

Naming

Fathom 1

We ran two rounds and 214 candidates for this one, and the whole sheet is published on our homepage because the rejected names are the argument. Fathom won because it is a measurement a person makes with their own arms, which is exactly what the product does with a shipment. It survived a bad phone line, a trademark search in three classes and a room of twelve people saying it out loud, which is the only test that has ever mattered. The teal came afterwards, from the color of the water in the dock outside their window.
